joanna m. wezyk

Joanna M. Wezyk creates paintings inspired by the rich history of Victorian architectural landscape of Westfield, NJ using traditional Old Master oil techniques and the mystery of light. Wezyk’s “talking bouquets” explore the masterful and poetic art of conveying hidden meanings and emotions behind the colorful floral arrangements which was popular in the Victorian times. By reanimating small, interior scenes, Wezyk also hopes to display her fascination with the Victorian era, and of the soft and silky, yet eerily haunted rooms. Joanna is a fine artist, a painting and drawing professor at Kean University, and a teacher of Digital Fine Arts at Bridgewater-Raritan High School. Her paintings are part of many private collections and have been displayed across the globe in hundreds of exhibitions. Wezyk holds an MFA from the School of Visual Arts in New York City; an MA in Fine Arts Education from Kean University, and a BFA and an MFA in Printmaking and Illustration from the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, Poland. She shares her life and art between Westfield, NJ and Krakow, Poland.
